Compensation Disclosure

(Forster Nexus Inc. operating as Seravue Financial)

  1. How We Are Compensated

Seravue Financial is compensated either by a fee or by commission, depending on the type of work performed and the preferences of the client. You will never be charged both a fee and a commission for the same engagement.

Our goal is to ensure that the compensation structure is transparent, fair, and aligned with the services you receive.

5.1 Advisory or Planning Fees

When agreed upon in advance, we may charge a fee for retirement planning, financial planning, or related advisory work. These fees may include:

  • flat fees for specific planning work
  • hourly fees
  • project-based fees
  • ongoing planning fees when appropriate

All fees are fully disclosed before any work begins.

5.2 Commissions

When commissions apply, we may receive them from the product provider when the product is obtained as required, including:

  • segregated funds
  • annuity contracts
  • insurance products (including group insurance, group savings plans, and pension programs)

These commissions are paid by the provider, not directly by you, and do not increase the cost of your product.

5.3 Service or Trailer Compensation and No-Load Funds

For certain products, such as segregated funds, ongoing servicing or trailer compensation may be paid by the product provider for maintaining and servicing your plan.

Whenever available, Seravue Financial uses no-load funds, which do not include front-end loads, back-end loads, or deferred sales charges (DSCs).

5.4 No Surprise Costs

You will always be informed of any fees, commissions, or other forms of compensation before we proceed with recommendations or applications. There are no hidden charges.

If you have any questions about how we are compensated for a particular product or service, we will provide a clear explanation in writing.

  1. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Seravue Financial is committed to the highest standards of professional conduct and regulatory compliance.

We always:

  • act in the best interest of the client
  • proactively disclose all compensation, including commissions, fees, and any other remuneration
  • recommend products and strategies based on a suitability assessment of your needs, goals, risk profile, and financial circumstances
  • document all recommendations and suitability considerations in alignment with regulatory requirements
  • disclose any potential or perceived conflicts of interest as required by law
  1. Questions About Compensation

You may request clarification about any aspect of compensation at any time. Seravue Financial provides full written disclosure automatically as part of our onboarding and product recommendation process.

If you have questions or wish to review how a particular recommendation is structured from a compensation standpoint, we will walk you through it in plain language.

Testimonials

  • We were clients of Wesley for more than 20 years, from our peak earning years through the transition into retirement. Over that time he helped us make sense of complex choices around saving, investing, and timing our retirement, always with clear explanations and meticulous follow‑through.

Thanks to the plan we built together, we now have a predictable income, understand how our investments support our lifestyle, and feel comfortable making financial decisions in retirement. Although we strongly disagree on which teams to cheer for in professional sports, we still managed to work through it and maintain a very good relationship. We would gladly recommend Wesley to anyone who wants a steady, detail‑oriented advisor for the long term.

  • I first met Wesley by chance when I was on my way into a retirement planning seminar at a hotel in Calgary being put on by another firm and walked into Wesley’s seminar room by mistake. After a brief conversation with Wesley, I decided to attend his seminar instead, and shortly after that my spouse and I asked Wesley to take on our financial planning. As a professional engineer, I had always been very organized with our finances, building my own spreadsheets and even drafting our wills. Wesley respected that work and matched it with the same level of structure, thorough analysis, and attention to detail in our retirement, tax, estate, insurance, and investment planning.

For nearly 25 years, Wesley helped us move from accumulation to a well‑thought‑out retirement and was patient but persistent in guiding us to finally step back from work. My spouse and I retired earlier than many of our peers and feel comfortable with the plan that supports our lifestyle today. We have referred several family members and work colleagues to Wesley and have always felt our relationship was built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to doing things properly.
